Trials are Blessings in disguise

quepasatyj asked: I really admire your about me section! I'm glad I found another person who stutters like me as well, but I'm glad music is a tool that helps me overcome it in so many ways! Keep your head up, and always stay motivated no matter what happens.

Thanks a lot!  And I, like you, use music as my escape…I have played guitar for about 3 years now, including almost 2 years as a bassist in a band.  I understand how much it really does help, and I appreciate your encouragement and follow!

Spread the word about the blog!

girlymaang asked: Hey there! I just found your blog and website. I am also 18 and have a stutter. I actually just completed an intensive stuttering therapy program which worked wonders, but now that it's over my old habits returned because I didn't work on them enough. Watching your video, I was amazed by how fluent you were, as you were stuttered less than many people who don't stutter. I plan on exploring your blog and website more, but it's 3 am and I'm tired.

Hey!

I am glad you found it, and I hope it is beneficial to you in some way!  As I said, my stuttering is extremely sporadic.  Some days I can talk fairly well, while others I can barely speak at all.  The reason I started this blog is to give back what I have learned about stuttering.

I have not been through any therapy programs, but I have learned and research A LOT of ways to temporarily beat a stutter.  If it seems like I am fluent, all it is is those techniques put into practice.

I am in the process of writing an ebook that will have most of these tricks and techniques explained thoroughly.  I hope you download it once I finish it!

Thanks again following the blog, and spread the word!   I want this to reach as many people as it can!

Much Love,

Parker A Brown

Anonymous asked: Do you still get upset and annoyed about your stammer? do you go to therapy?

Absolutely.  It is terribly hard not to get annoyed when people think you have forgotten your own name.  I just have to remember to not let it get to me.  Letting your stutter get to you will only make you stutter more.

Therapy, not yet.  I am looking into a few speech pathology centers locally, and I have to check to see if my insurance will cover it.  From whart I have heard and researched, therapy can help GREATLY.

I am very excited to hopefully start therapy soon, and it is perfectly normal to get upset every now and then about stuttering.

Just remember, don’t let it get to you.  People make fun because they don’t understand.

Help them understand.

Parker A Brown
